Andorra La Vella, Andorra’s lovely capital is another option when being in Barcelona. The commercial paradise is ideal for a day trip or a weekend, especially for those interested in skiing. What can you do in Andorra in just a few hours? Let’s find out!

If you chose to visit Andorra by bus (around three hours), the most affordable solution is ALSA (https://www.alsa.com/en).

Caldea Spa

If you ask me what I remember the most of my visit in Andorra, this is it. The Caldea Spa, considered one of the most beautiful in Europe, is a must visit when being in Andorra. You may book in advance your visit and chose the ideal package for you (https://www.caldea.com/). Infinite indoor and outdoor pools with different temperatures, hammam, saunas, water massage, astonishing view of the snowy mountains are among the activities you may experience at this impressive spa. If you can visit it in the evening, lots of spectacles are also waiting for you!

Plaza of the 7 poets

In short walking distance from the bus stop is the Plaza of the 7 Poets. Seven sculpted statues on 10-meter columns created by the Catalan Artist Jaume Plensa, are illuminated during the night and interesting to observe during the daylight.

Vista a la Vall

The best point to gaze at the Plaza of the 7 poets and the mountain’s view. There is a very interesting and unusual way to reach this spot. Since the city is built in levels, there are elevators that take you to the upper level without having to worry about climbing steps. A hidden elevator that takes you to this view is at the left side of FEDA Building. When arriving at Vista a la Vall, don’t lose the opportunity to admire the Casa de la Vall, former headquarters of the General council of Andorra and historical house of the city.

Ball del contrapàs

A little square with dancing sculptures and nice buildings around them that deserve a visit. Since you are at this neighborhood have a drink or a yummy hot chocolate (probably the best hot chocolate I had drunk until now) at the Barri Antic Hostel & Pub (https://maps.app.goo.gl/jqDPLMs4nhkCUABXA)

St Esteve of Andorra Church

Another historical location at the heart of the city is this 11th Century, Romanesque style church that will attract your attention.

Avenida Meritxell

The epicenter of shopping at the historic center of Andorra de la Vella. If you feel like shopping and in tax-free heaven paradise you probably will, this is the place for you. There is even an Aliexpress shop among the other stores, cafes and restaurants you may find on this long street.

La Noblesse du Temps/Pont de París

Salvodore Dali’s famous melting clock is located at this square along with the view of the bridge with the popular photo spot of the city with the hills in the background. A light show also occurs during the night.
